Virginia on my mind

Virginia Woolf, that is. In recent months I’ve read and watched some Woolf-related media:

  • The Legacy,” a Woolf story about a woman who leaves her journal to her husband when she dies. He learns some things about her he never knew.
  • Woolf’s own suicide note to her husband.
  • Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966), the award-winning movie starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Woolf appears only in the title and in a song.

Each of these pieces pretty much defines “poignant,” each in its own way.
